One of the most rewarding benefits of growing your own vegetables and produce, is to know that they are truly naturally produced, with no chemical inputs or residue. Produce from lively soils with abundant nutrients is rich in colour, flavour and vitamin content. Flowers grown in healthy, naturally fertilized soils with a full complement of micro-nutrients, produce foliage and blooms that are full and vibrant in colour and fragrance.

For flowers that you are starting from seed, apply Turffix^® by sprinkling it on top of the plants post-emergent, after the plant has emerged from the ground. Apply at a rate of about one cup of Turffix^® per 3 meters or 10 feet, or about ½ of a cup per square meter. For flowers you are starting from the bulb, transplants, or established perennials, sprinkle the Turffix^® on top of the plant, then water it well. For larger rose bushes or flowering shrubs, apply one full cup per plant for the fullest blooms and deepest colours. Do not apply late in the season, as this will tend to produce succulent new growth that will be less winter hardy.

For vegetables, herbs, or flowers planted from seed in rows, wait until the plant has emerged from the ground. Then sprinkle Turffix^® on top of the plants all along the plant row. Keep the Turffix^® in contact with the air until it dissolves and do not work it into the soil. A cup of Turffix^® should fertilize 3 metres or about ten feet of row. Apply as soon as the plants have emerged to begin the nutrient release process. Do not bury the Turffix^® in the seed bed or with the seed potato or onion set in the hill. Apply post-emergent on top of the soil. For potatoes, cucumbers, pumpkins, peppers, squash, peas, and beans, give a second equal application of Turffix^® when the plant begins to flower.

For plants that have had a green-house start, excavate a hole slightly larger than the rooted soil ball. Water the hole and gently fold in the transplant. Bury the plant slightly deeper than the transplant root ball. Now sprinkle about ¼ cup of Turffix^® around the base of the plant from the stem to the outside perimeter of the transplant ball. Again, keep the Turffix^® on top, rather than burying it under the plant roots. Frequent waterings are preferred to large but inconsistent watering. Your plant will have abundant nutrients for the enriched, revitalized soil to produce a mature plant that is full and fruitful.
